I'm in the Holiday Inn for the Peace Corps meeting tomorrow reflecting on the last 3 months of my "vacation" time in California. I had such a great time with my brother and his family. My time out there couldn't have been better. I'm gonna miss a lot of things about the West Coast including a few of my favorite things here: I got to work at a great coffee shop meeting the relaxed beachtown folk, and spoiled myself with the good coffee. Bringing home pizza and a movie for friday nights with the kiddies, all the desserts a chocolate fiend could imagine, the best home-cooked meals this side of the Mississippi River, a wonderful miss Cathy who can really cook a mean steak and always fill our tummies; surfing Saturdays with an all day beach ticket at our own personal shoreline; driving one mean, gator-protected mercedes mobile; exploring the rocks and finding all types of creatures; sitting atop the roof to watch sunsets, admire the bright stars and reading in solitude. And can't forget the visits from my younger brother Jon and my homie Devon.

The boys were lucky enough to get a pool table for Christmas and we played numerous games inside our poolroom, aka the garage. In fact, Christian, for at least the next two years will have a winning record against me: 36-33.
The sunsets at the beach are majestic. The beauty God created for our sight is inspiring to no explanation. The sunsets, beautiful sunny days and fresh, salty smell are reasons enough to spend the rest of your life living on the Pacific coast. I can't wait to come back.
Thanks Matt, Steph and boys for letting me share the experience with you.
