Staging

Well I received my staging materials the other day. I will be flying to Philadelphia and staying at the Holiday Inn for 3 days while we go through immunizations and basic information regarding: safety issues, cultural topics, etc, etc. I'm sure it will be quite informative, but also slightly lame - I'm positive the government makes sure about that.

I have a lot to still buy before I leave, you can see the Peace Corp list here if you like. With the bag weight and size restrictions they enforce I don't know how volunteers can fit it all in. Guess I'll have to be relying on tailors to make me some new clothes!

I've met a few people online that are in my group and we plan on meeting the night before and having dinner. That should be nice to get to know a few people before "boot camp" begins.

I'm moving to my parents this week so packed up all my gear to fly home. When it came down to it, there was not that much. I came out to one bigish duffle weighs about 45lbs right now and one carry on backpack (big daypack) at about 20 lbs. Course I'm little and know there would be NO WAY I could carry the full weight allowed. Anyway an approximate pack list is on my site with comments from those in country if you are interested. See you in Philly!
