Channel Islands

I have been working at an organic coffee and smoothie place here in a quaint little seaside town called Carpinteria. It was just something to help with the rent for my brother and his family for the 3 months I was going to be living here. It's been a great job; learned all about espresso and can make any coffee drink like a pro. The owners are my age and we get along well and have a lot of fun. My last day is going to be on the 20th so I'll have about 9 days to get all my junk together and little time for an excursion I have really wanted to go on.

The Channel Islands are visible from our beach and have been calling out my name since I've learned about them. They are truly magnificent with a variety of wildlife (sea lion grounds, bald eagles, sharks, sheep, indigenous foxes, feral pigs, many native birds and more) and sea/rock formations (sea caves, arch rocks, lava tubes, etc) I plan on spending a day out there kayaking and enjoying it.

Watch out for sharks...

I hear that the kayakers are snacks for great whites this time of year because the seals are rooking (breeding).

Enjoy, 'sharkbait' -RooHaHa
